Teacher Grade IIIA refers to a qualified primary school teacher in Tanzania who has completed teacher education training at the Grade IIIA level.
Teacher Grade IIIA is the basic professional teaching qualification for primary education in Tanzania. It means the teacher has successfully completed a two-year teacher training course at a Teachers’ College after finishing Form Four (O-Level).
Roles of a Teacher Grade IIIA
- Teach Standards I–VII in primary schools.
- Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, and teaching aids.
- Assess pupils through tests and exercises.
- Maintain class discipline and records.
- Promote pupils’ moral and social development.
