FOOD AND HUMAN NUTRITION Form Two FTNA New Exam Format 2026 is the official format issued by the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) for assessing Food and Human Nutrition in the Form Two National Assessment (FTNA).
It is based on the Home Economics Syllabus for Ordinary Secondary Education (2019) and focuses on the competencies acquired by students in Forms One and Two. The format emphasizes competency-based assessment, integrating theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
The Food and Human Nutrition format for the Form Two National Assessment is derived from the Food and Human Nutrition Syllabus for Ordinary Secondary Education 2023 issued by the Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE).
This Format focuses on the competences acquired by students at Form One and Two levels. The format emphasises a comprehensive evaluation of higher-order thinking skills and practical skills as highlighted in the current syllabus.
General Objectives
The assessment aims to determine the extent to which students can:
1. Demonstrate skills in kitchen planning, kitchen hygiene, and the use and care of kitchen equipment.
2. Apply different methods of cooking various foods.
3. Understand the concepts of food and nutrients, their functions, and the effects of heat on nutrients.
4. Plan, prepare, cook, serve, and preserve balanced meals for different groups of people.
5. Analyse ways of generating and managing income through catering and food-related activities.
