ABOUT PSLE EXAMINATION
This is a selection test which enables the government to select form one entrants for its schools. Students who get selected and those not selected receive certificates. PSLE is administered in the second week of September every year.
The objectives of PSLE are: to assess learners’ knowledge and skills gained in the different subjects at the primary school level; to assess learners’ understanding of the basic skills and the extent to which they can use such skills in solving pertinent problems in life; and identify learners with the capacity to continue with secondary education or join training institutions.
Any pupil who has completed standard seven in both government and private schools can be registered and sit for this examination.
The examined subjects at PSLE are: Hisabati (Mathematics), English Language, Sayansi na Teknolojia (Science and Technology), Uraia na Maadili (Civic and Moral Education) Maarifa ya Jamii na Stadi za Kazi (Social Studies and Vocational Skills) and Kiswahili.
Each subject has an examination format, which describes the structure of the examination paper, and the content which is to be covered by the examination paper for that subject.
Uraia na Maadili CIRA PSLE 2024 Candidates Response Analysis Books
This report deals with the analysis of candidates’ answers to questions in the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) in the Civics and Ethics subject which was conducted in September 2024.
The examination was conducted following the 2016 syllabus and the revised 2024 format. The objective of this report is to provide feedback to all education stakeholders on the progress of candidates in the knowledge and skills they acquired in the Civics and Ethics subject.
In addition, the report has identified the candidates’ performance in the competencies tested as well as the challenges that affected their performance.
