THE SANITARY DEPARTMENT-DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE HEAD OF DEPARTMENT
1. He/she shall ensure that the school environment is conducive for learning and other extra curricula activities.
2. He/she shall ensure that all members of the school community participate in creating favorable environmental conditions for learning activities. This will include conducting cleanliness in classrooms, toilets and in compounds surrounding the school.
3. He/she shall ensure that all the necessary equipments required for sanitary activities are available.
4. He/she shall play a great role in ensuring that the culture of environmental protection is practiced by all community members at school.
5. He/she shall provide simple punishments to those who will seem to be a threat to the school’s environment.
6. He/she shall provide suggestions on ways to enhance environmental protection inside and outside the school community.
Sanitary Teacher Duties and Responsibilities
7. He/she shall monitor the environmental officer(s) and give directions on matters pertaining to sanitation.
8. He/she shall taste the food before it is served to ensure that it is delicious and safe for human consumption.
9. He/she shall work closely with the cooks and give advices on matters pertaining sanitation as far as food preparation, storage and serving is concerned.
10. He/she shall ensure that the food is prepared and served on time and in case of delays, prior information should be displayed early to avoid inconveniences.
11. He/she shall prepare terminal and annual reports on matters concerning sanitary department.
