The Tanzania Institute of Education has prepared this guide to enable the Swahili teacher to implement the Swahili Subject Outline prepared in 2020.
This guide aims to enable the teacher to implement changes to the Kiswahili Subject Outline that emphasize the building of competence in teaching and learning appropriately so that the student can face the challenges of life in his or her environment.
Teachers, when using this guide, you are advised to consider all the elements outlined so that you can translate the requirements of the outline into teaching and learning activities in and outside the classroom effectively.
These elements are Introduction, Using Curriculum Materials, Teaching and Learning in an Inclusive Classroom, Teaching and Learning in Swahili, Preparing to Teach the Lesson, Assessing Lesson Learning, and finally various examples of the teaching and learning process.
