EMO Standard Five Assessment Examination – New Syllabus 2026 is a type of school-based test (mtihani wa darasa la tano) prepared under the competence-based curriculum used in Tanzania. It is a continuous assessment test given during the school term (monthly, midterm, or terminal).

EMO is not a national exam body like NECTA. It usually refers to exam providers / collections (exam series) shared online or used by schools (like mock or assessment packages). So, EMO exams are practice or internal assessment exams, not official national exams.
