NACTVET Students Information Verification 2025/2026

The National Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (NACTVET) is a corporate body established pursuant to NACTVET Act, Cap. 129, to coordinate and regulate the provision of technical and vocational education and training.

The Council regulates an efficient national qualifications system that will ensure that products from technical and vocational institutions are of high quality and respond to changing needs as well as technological innovations in the world.

NACTE verification is the process by which students’ academic qualifications, especially for diploma holders, are authenticated through the NACTVET Award Verification System (NAVS).

This system ensures that students have valid and recognized qualifications before they proceed with further studies or employment. The verification system is particularly important for students aspiring to join higher education institutions.

Award Verification Number (AVN)

The Council developed NACTVET Award Verification System (NAVS) to facilitate admission into Higher Learning Institutions for applicants with NTA Level 6 and equivalent qualifications in two different ways.

Firstly, to enable Diploma graduates aspiring to apply for Bachelor’s Degree to verify their qualifications and update their information in the system. Thus, the holders of Diploma and their equivalences are given a unique identification number called Award Verification Number (AVN).

Secondly, it enables higher learning institutions to easily admit students with equivalent qualifications; it is easy to access the applicants’ information from one central point through the Institution Panel or API.
