Ngorongoro Scholarship Guideline – 2026/2027 (Courses, Qualifications and Items Covered)
GUIDELINES AND CRITERIA FOR NGORONGORO SCHOLARSHIP 2026/2027: The Ngorongoro Scholarship Guideline 2026/2027 refers to guidelines for educational financial support associated with Ngorongoro District Council, intended to explain eligible courses, applicant qualifications, and what expenses may be covered.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS TO STUDENTS APPLYING FOR NGORONGORO SCHOLARSHIP
These guidelines govern the Ngorongoro Scholarship, awarded to students residing within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. They apply to all students enrolled in Bachelor’s Degree programmes.
All scholarship applicants for the academic year 2026/27 are required to observe the following: –
(i) Read and follow the application procedures stated in these Guidelines,
(iii) Applicants aged 18 years and above must provide National Identification Numbers (NIN) during application,
(iv) Ensure that all birth certificates are certified by the RITA to ascertain their validity,
(v) Provide a bank account which is active and carries the same name as that on the academic certificates (CSEE certificate),
(vi) Applicants should provide their registered and reachable mobile phone number. The mobile phone number provided will be used to inform the applicant on the application progress and payment process,
(vii) Applicants must review the entire application and make corrections (where necessary) before submission,
(viii) Ensure that the application form is duly filled and signed,
(ix) All applicants must strictly observe the application deadline,
(x) For any identified forgery, the applicant will be disqualified from the whole application process, and subject him/her to other necessary legal actions, and
(xi) Applicants are advised to follow up on their application process results through their SIPA accounts.

CRITERIA FOR NGORONGORO SCHOLARSHIP
To benefit from the scholarship, an applicant must meet the set eligibility criteria detailed hereunder:
(i) Be a Tanzanian who is a resident of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for a period of not less than four years,
(ii) Be admitted into an accredited tertiary education institution to pursue programmes aforementioned in item 2.0,
(iii) Have a complete and correct application made through HESLB; and
(iv) Demonstrate financial need with no alternative source of funding,
ITEMS COVERED UNDER NGORONGORO SCHOLARSHIP
Ngorongoro Scholarship will cover the following items: –
A: Tuition Fee (TU)
Covers tuition as charged by the accredited institution, up to a maximum of TZS 2,000,000 per annum.
B: Meals and Accommodation (MA)
Students will be provided with meals and accommodation at a rate of TZS 10,000 per day, paid in four instalments per annum.
C: Books and Stationery (BS)
A maximum amount of TZS 200,000 per annum will be granted to cover books and stationery for all degree programmes.
D: Special Faculty Requirement (SFR)
Awarded to programmes that require special faculty requirements, up to a maximum of TZS 200,000.
E: Field Practical Training (FPT)
Students will be awarded TZS 10,000 per day as living expenses for a period not exceeding 56 days during practical training, plus TZS 60,000 for transport costs.
F: Assistive Equipment for Students with Special Needs
Students with special needs will be awarded an amount not exceeding TZS 500,000 for the purchase of assistive equipment. The amount will be disbursed once throughout the study period.
D: Sponsorship Duration
Students who have secured the scholarship will be sponsored for three (3) to four (4) years, depending on the respective degree programme.
PAYMENT MODE
All payments will be made through the HESLB Digital Disbursement Solution (DiDiS). Tuition fee payments will be made directly to the respective tertiary education institution’s bank account, while other items will be paid directly to the student’s bank account.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The beneficiary is obligated to fulfil the following scholarship conditions:
(i) The beneficiary must read, understand, and sign the Scholarship Agreement.
(ii) A beneficiary who changes a programme of study or academic institution must immediately notify HESLB
(iii) Should studies be postponed for medical reasons, the beneficiary may retain the scholarship, provided the institution confirms this in writing, and
(iv) A beneficiary who withdraws from the scholarship before their studies begin must inform HESLB so that the scholarship can be awarded to someone else
SCHOLARSHIP CANCELLATION
The scholarship may be nullified due to any of the following reasons: –
(i) If the student, at any stage of studies, decides to postpone studies for reasons not related to medical grounds,
(ii) If a beneficiary is terminated from studies due to disciplinary or academic reasons, and
(iii) Change of programmes outside the list provided in item 2 will amount to disqualification from continuing with the scholarship.
(iii) If a beneficiary repeats a year more than once during the course duration
SUCCESSFUL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICANTS
Successful scholarship applicants will be notified of their allocations through the Student’s Individual Permanent Account (SIPA).
