Primary School Examinations (Mitihani) are tests or assessments given to pupils in primary school to measure how well they understand what they have been taught in class.
Types of Primary School Examinations
Common primary school exams include:
1. Weekly Tests (Mitihani ya wiki) – Short tests given every week.
2. Monthly Tests (Mitihani ya mwezi) – Exams done after one month of learning.
3. Midterm Exams – Given in the middle of the term.
4. Terminal Exams – Done at the end of the term.
5. Annual Exams – Given at the end of the school year.
6. National Exams – Example: Standard Four National Assessment (SFNA) and Standard Seven NECTA (PSLE) in Tanzania.
