Reading TIE Book Standard One

This is the second book in a series of three books for Reading for primary schools. The book is developed according to the 2016 Basic Education Syllabus for Standard I issued by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.

The book consists of twelve units. The aim is to develop your competencies in story-telling while learning to master English language proficiency. There are some activities and exercises in each unit.

The activities and exercises are expected to expand your level of vocabulary mastery and improve your ability to use the language appropriately.

Functions of TIE

a) Curriculum development and review

b) Development of curriculum support materials including, but not limited to syllabi and tie textbooks

c) Quality assurance of educational materials

d) Training in curriculum studies, including in-service training of teachers

e) Research in education and the provision of professional advice to the government and other education stakeholder
