TCU Announces Opening of First Phase College and University Applications 2025/2026
The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) wishes to inform the public, Higher Education Institutions and all Higher Education Stakeholders locally and internationally that the application window for admission for Bachelor’s degree applicants for the academic year 2025/2026 has opened from today, 15/7/2025. This window will be open until 10/8/2025.
ADMISSION PROCEDURE FOR THE 2025/2026 ACADEMIC YEAR
1 Categories of Applicants for Admission
Applications for admission to the Bachelor’s Degree are for three categories of applicants:
a) Those with the appropriate Form Six qualifications;
b) Those with the appropriate Diploma qualifications, or equivalent qualifications; and
c) Those with the appropriate Foundation Certificate qualifications of a Tanzanian Open University.
To understand the eligibility requirements for the three categories mentioned above, the colleges and programmes allowed for admission, applicants should read the criteria
shown in the Bachelor’s Degree Admission Guidebooks for 2025/2026 Academic Year available on the TCU website (www.tcu.go.tz).
2 Procedure for Submitting Applications for Admission
a) Applications should be submitted directly to the colleges of the applicant and the study programmes of his/her choice.
b) Specific instructions on how to submit applications are provided by the respective colleges.
3 Criteria and Qualifications for Applicants for Admission
The criteria and qualifications for various study programs are available on the websites of the respective colleges and in the admission application guidebooks available on the TCU website (www.tcu.go.tz)
4 Important Issues to Consider by Applicants
a) Carefully read and understand the admission guide issued by TCU along with the specific instructions of the colleges before starting to submit applications for admission.
b) Log in to the colleges’ websites and contact the colleges directly to know the application procedures and obtain detailed information about the study programs to satisfy yourself before submitting applications.
c) Submit applications directly to the colleges through the electronic systems established by the respective colleges.
d) Tanzanian applicants with certificates issued by foreign examination boards should submit their certificates to the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) for Secondary Education certificates or the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NACTVET) for Diploma certificates to obtain verification of the equivalence of their qualifications before submitting applications for admission. e) Non-Tanzanian applicants with certificates issued by foreign examination boards should submit applications for admission directly through the relevant university systems.
The Commission encourages all applicants for admission to continue to obtain accurate information through the TCU website (www.tcu.go.tz), the websites of universities that are allowed to admit students for the First Degree, as well as various information provided by TCU through the media.
WARNING
The Commission calls on all applicants for the First Degree, if they need clarification on any issue related to admission, to contact the relevant universities directly. In addition, if they need general information, they can contact TCU using the email address es@tcu.go.tz.
The Commission also advises citizens to avoid being scammed by people who call themselves agents or consultants who claim to provide services on how to join higher education institutions in the country.
