Tarehe Za Kufunga Na Kufungua Shule 2026/2027
As per the curricula, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has prepared the Semester Calendar for Pre-Primary, Primary and Secondary Schools (Forms I – IV) for the academic year 2026.
It is important to consider the implementation of the relevant Calendar as planned in order to avoid the challenge of not completing the teaching and learning of all topics on time and thus having to set teaching and learning plans that deprive children/students of the opportunity to rest and participate fully in social activities in their families and communities.
The Academic Semester Calendar for Pre-Primary, Primary and Secondary Schools for the year 2026 is as follows:

First Semester
You have 96 academic days, starting on 13 January 2026 and ending on 05 June 2026.
During this period, students will have a mid-semester break from 27 March 2026 to 08 April 2026
Second Semester
You have 98 academic days, starting on 06 July 2026 and ending on 04 December 2026.
The mid-semester break will be from 04 September 2026 to 14 September 2026
NB
– The number of school days per year is 194.
– The UMITASHUMTA competition will be held from 05/06/2026 to 17/06/2026,
– The UMISSETA competition will be held from 18/06/2025 to 30/06/2026.
– The East African Primary and Secondary Schools Sports Competition (FEASSA) will be held from 12/8/2026 to 23/8/ 2026.
– All schools in Morogoro Municipality will close on 7/8/2026 and reopen on 24/8/2026 to accommodate the FEASSA Competition to be held in the Region
there. Therefore, schools will not be closed during the short vacation in September, 2026.
