What are The objectives of PSLE?

The objectives of PSLE are:

1. To assess learners’ knowledge and skills gained in the different subjects at the primary school level

2. To assess learners’ understanding of the basic skills and the extent to which they can use such skills in solving pertinent problems in life; and

3. To identify learners with the capacity to continue with secondary education or join training institutions.

Who is Eligible to do PSLE?

Eligibility for the Examination: Any pupil who has completed standard seven in both government and private schools can be registered and sit for this examination.

What are subjects examined?

Examined Subjects/Courses: The examined subjects at PSLE are:

1. Hisabati (Mathematics)

2. English Language

3. Sayansi na Teknolojia (Science and Technology)

4. Uraia na Maadili (Civic and Moral Education)

5. Maarifa ya Jamii na Stadi za Kazi (Social Studies and Vocational Skills)

6. Kiswahili.
