The Institute of Rural Development Planning (IRDP) is a Tanzanian public institution and body corporate established under the Institute of Rural Development Planning Act No. 8 of 1980. The Act provides the legal foundation for the establishment, governance and functions of the Institute.
IRDP was established as a national centre for training, research and consultancy services in rural development planning and management.
Its role is to help build skilled human resources and support sustainable development and poverty reduction.
