NECTA is a government institution established by Law in 1973 with the responsibility of administering national examinations in Tanzania.
Before 1973, all national examinations were administered by the Curriculum and Examinations Section of the Ministry of Education after Mainland Tanzania had pulled out of the East African Examinations Council in 1971.
STNA 2025 EXAM TIMETABLE (RATIBA YA DARASA LA PILI 2025)
INSTRUCTIONS FOR HEAD TEACHERS
1. Make sure you have the 2025 Assessment Schedule prepared by the Tanzania Examinations Council.
2. Ensure that all registered students take the Reading Skills Assessment, Writing: Basic English Language Skills and Arithmetic Skills.
3. Ensure that each skill is administered on the date and time indicated on the Assessment Schedule.
4. If the School has registered more than 300 students, conduct the Reading Skills Assessment for two days on 19.11.2025 and 20.11.2025.
5. The administration of the Standard Two Assessment should be carried out in accordance with the National Assessment Guidelines for Reading, Writing and Numeracy Skills at the Standard Two School Level, available on the Tanzania Examinations Council website www.necta.go.tz.
