What is Qualitative Analysis Guide?

Qualitative Analysis guide was developed in order to have a uniform document that will be used by candidates when writing their chemistry practical examinations.

The objective of constructing this document is to have a identical guide which will be used by candidates when writing their chemistry practical examinations at ordinary level secondary education.

This guide is based on 2010 advanced level secondary education chemistry syllabus and was used in 2018 in Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) assessment.

What the Guide Is & Why It’s Important

The guide is officially published by the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA).

It’s used for the ACSEE (ordinary level) chemistry practical exam.

The guide helps students and teachers consistently identify cations and anions in unknown ionic compounds — which is exactly what the practical exam expects.
