Announcement of registration of independent candidates (Form Six Private Candidates) for the ACSEE 2026 examination.
NECTA is a government institution established by Law in 1973 with the responsibility of administering national examinations in Tanzania.
Before 1973, all national examinations were administered by the Curriculum and Examinations Section of the Ministry of Education after Mainland Tanzania had pulled out of the East African Examinations Council in 1971

NECTA REGISTRATION OF ACSEE 2026 CANDIDATES
The Tanzania Examinations Council wishes to inform all persons intending to sit for the 2026 Form Six Examination (ACSEE) as Independent Candidates that:-
1. The registration period for Independent Candidates has started on 01/07/2025 to 30/09/2025. The registration fee is 50,000/=, those who register late i.e. from 01/10/2025 to 31/10/2025 will pay 65,000/= as the regular fee plus fine.
2. Before registering with the Head of Centre online, candidates should go to the Examination Centres to collect the reference numbers provided free of charge and make payment of the fee through the Bank using the ‘Control Number’.
3. Explanations on the procedure for generating a ‘Control Number’ and registering, have been provided on the Tanzania Examinations Council website: www.necta.go.tz.
Additionally, candidates who are unable to use the system should call 0738785945 for further assistance.
4. All applicants are urged to ensure they register early as the registration system will close immediately after the registration period is over.
