ABOUT NACTVET

The National Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (NACTVET) is a corporate body established pursuant to NACTVET Act, Cap. 129, to coordinate and regulate the provision of technical and vocational education and training.

The Council regulates an efficient national qualifications system that will ensure that products from technical and vocational institutions are of high quality and respond to changing needs as well as technological innovations in the world.

Core Functions Of NACTVET

The function of the Council may be summarized as below:

  • To establish and maintain the regulatory framework for technical and vocational education and training, leading to quality assured qualifications.
  • To assist technical and vocational institutions to improve and maintain the quality of the education they provide and to ensure that their programmes meet labour market demands, by guiding and monitoring their adherence to the regulatory framework.
  • To advise the Government on the strategic development of technical and vocational education and training so that it can make informed decisions regarding policymaking.

NACTVET CAS Selection Results 2025 September Intake

The National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NACTVET) informs the public that the results of the second phase of selection for applicants to the Health and Allied Sciences programmes for the 2025/2026 academic year are officially announced today, 1st September, 2025.

The council coordinated the second phase of student admissions into various health and allied sciences courses through the Common Admission System (CAS) for the academic year 2025/2026. A total of 15,526 applicants submitted their applications through CAS.

A total of 15,526 applicants completed their applications by selecting their preferred colleges/programmes. A total of 12,988 applicants were qualified for the programmes they applied for and a total of 2,538 applicants were not qualified for the programmes they applied for.

A total of 10,476 applicants have been selected to join various Health and Allied Sciences programmes, of which 5,186 (49.5%) are women and 5,290 (50.5%) are men. 330 applicants were selected to government universities and 10,146 applicants to non-government universities.

In addition, applicants who were qualified but were not selected due to competition in the programs and colleges they applied for are advised to submit applications to colleges with vacancies through the third phase window using the Common Admission System.

All applicants are advised to check the results of the admission selection through the Council’s website (www.nactvet.go.tz) by clicking on CAS Selection 2025 for more information. The Council informs the public that the third phase of admission will be officially opened from September 2 to 26, 2025 and the results of the admission selection will be announced on October 5, 2025.

In addition, those who need to change programs or colleges, the transfer window will be open from September 2 to 26, 2025, so they should use this window to complete their applications through the Council’s website by clicking on the account they used to apply and be selected.
