This assessment format is a revised version of a format issued by the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) in 2017.

The format is based on the Chemistry Syllabus for Ordinary Secondary Education issued in 2007.

Changes made involve improving the assessment rubric and the inclusion of a table of specifications.

However, there are no changes in the assessment content.
