FIRE AND RESCUE FORCE (JESHI LA ZIMAMOTO): To Prevent and minimize death rates, injuries to people, and damage to properties arising from fire, floods, earth quakes, road traffic accidents and other disasters.
Commissioner General of the Fire and Rescue Service with the authority given to him Pursuant to of section 14(4) of the Fire and Rescue Service Act, Chapter 427, being read as well as Regulation 5(1) of the Service Regulations of the Fire and Rescue Service for the year 2008
CRITERIA AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE APPLICANTS
1. Constable (Konstebo) – Entry Level
Eligibility Criteria:
i. Must have completed Form Four (Certificate of Secondary
ii. Education – CSEE)
iii. Must be a Tanzanian citizen by birth
iv. Must have a birth certificate
v. Must possess a National Identification Card (NIDA) or NIDA number
vi. Must be physically and mentally fit
vii. No criminal record
viii. Must be single (not married)
ix. No tattoos on the body
x. Must have never used drugs
xi. Must be ready to attend Fire and Rescue Training
xii. Must have never been employed in the government sector
xiii. Minimum height: Men: 5.7 feet Women: 5.4 feet
xiv Must be ready to cover their own interview and recruitment costs
xv. Age: 18-25 years
2. Technical and Skilled Positions
For candidates with Form Four or Form Six qualifications who also possess additional technical skills, the following fields are open for applications:
- Heavy Vehicle Drivers
- Plumbing Technicians
- Nursing
- Fire and Rescue Specialists
- Medical Practitioners
- Helicopter Pilots
- Additional Requirements:
- Must meet all general Constable requirements
- Helicopter Pilots: Age limit 18-35 years
- Drivers: Must have a Class E driving license, with an age limit of 18-28 years
- Drivers will undergo a practical test to verify their driving skills
3. Degree Holders – Specialist Positions
The following degree holders are encouraged to apply:
- Marine Engineering
- Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
- Aircraft Maintenance Engineering
- English Language Studies
- Quantity Surveying (QS)
- Multimedia Technology
- Economics
- Law (must have completed practical legal training)
- Education Management
- Road & Railway Transport Logistics Management
- Chemical Processing Engineering
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must meet all general Constable requirements
- Age limit: 18-28 years
