The Board of Examinations has conducted a Review of Grades, Scores, Proficiency Levels and the use of Continuous Marks (CA) in the assessment and examination of Primary, Secondary and Teacher education and made improvements based on the improvements made in the Education and Training Policy of the year 2014 edition for 2023 and updated Curriculum for 2023. Teaching Diploma Examinations
Types of Diplomas that will be examined for Teaching
Exams will have four (4) Diplomas which are Basic Education, Special Education, Early Education and Special Teaching Diploma Basic Education for Science and Mathematics subjects. Candidates in each Diploma will be examined in four (4) basic subjects which are;
- Teaching (Assessment and Evaluation
- Psychology and Sociology of Education
- Curriculum and Teaching and
- Teaching Philosophy and Ethics)
Inclusive Education, Professional Communication for Teachers, and Practical Teaching.
The examination for the Teacher Examination will be held as follows.
i. Basic Education Teaching Diploma (Stashahada ya Ualimu Elimu ya Msingi)
ii. Special Education Teaching Diploma (Stashahada ya Ualimu Elimu Maalumu)
iii. Diploma in Early Education Teaching (Stashahada ya Ualimu Elimu ya Awali)
iv. Special Teaching Diploma in Primary Education for Science and Mathematics subjects (Stashahada Maalum ya Ualimu Elimu ya Msingi kwa masomo ya Sayansi na Hisabati)
i. Passing Grades Teacher Exam
Grades of Success and Scores in the Diploma in Primary Education Examination (DPEE);
Diploma in Special Education Examination (DSPEE) and
Diploma in Pre-Primary Education Examination (DPPEE) and
Special Diploma in Primary Education for Science and Mathematics/Special Diploma in Primary Education in Science and Mathematics (SDPEESM) will consider the number of compulsory subjects for each exam.

NB:
Grades of achievement The Teaching Diploma level is in the form of Grade Point Average (GPA) which is Distinction, Credit and Pass. Distinction Grade is the highest achievement and Pass Grade is the lowest achievement.
Analysis of Grades using Grade Point Average (GPA) is as specified in Table below
In addition, the weight of points in the grade is; A = 5, B = 4, C = 3, D=2, F = 1.
